Dow on the previous close (on 10^th August 2009) was 9338 and Dow closed on 12^th August at 9362, a net rise of 24 points.

American stock market trends (13^th August 2009 to 16^th August 2009)

There are two trading days in this period – on 13^th and 14^th August 2009. Dow Jones is likely to be under pressure in this period and therefore may fall. The Dow closing on 14^th August 2009 may be lower than the previous close of 12^th August 2009.

How to understand these trends
